We can’t all be experts on everything. However, with indoor air quality more important now than ever, there are a few things that everyone should know about ventilation.
Ventilation is a method to control Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), but it does not prevent airborne germ and chemical distribution. It simply mixes outdoor air into buildings to reduce the concentration of airborne pollutants. This process doesn’t actually destroy germs and toxins, and what’s more - it moves them around throughout the building.
To fix this issue, most HVAC (or Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning) systems include filters to capture large particles as air flows through. However there are a couple of things you should know about filters. First, filters can’t catch everything - depending on the size of the filter pore openings, micro pollutants (airborne germs and toxins) can still get through. Second, filters only work when air flows through them, so if your filter gets too dirty then airflow diminishes and pollutant concentration increases. Finally, filters do not kill germs or toxins, so you still have to take care when handling and disposing of dirty filters.
For years (and especially since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic), engineers have been trying to improve ventilation systems. Most recommendations have been to bring in more outdoor air, increase airflow velocity, redesign the location of air inlets and outlets or to add more filters. While these techniques can help mitigate IAQ issues, they still don’t prevent distribution of germs and toxins in the air. That’s why we created Ti-DOX technology, which cleans the air at a molecular level by destroying harmful viruses, bacteria, toxins and more.
Designed to easily attach to any existing furnace or HVAC system, the Ti-DOX HydroxylizAire cleans air as it flows through the chamber using a patented based 8-way design. It uses UVC technology to safely generate powerful hydroxyl radicals to neutralize and destroy harmful pollutants. It works 24/7, giving you total peace of mind.
